As a Trades Person volunteer, examples of projects that you might be involved in include:
• Constructing kennels
• Laying fences
• Installations
• Repairs to existing facilities
• Upgrade to existing facilities
Helpful skills:
• Familiarity with a variety of tools
• Able to follow directions from a project manager
• Work both indoors and outdoors
• Lift heavy objects (dependent upon the project)

Puppy Maintenance shifts are scheduled for a minimum of 2-hour block.
As a Puppy Maintenance volunteer, examples of projects that you might be involved in include:
• Cleaning kennels
• Baths
• Facilities cleaning
Helpful skills:
• Able to follow directions from a project manager
• Able to lift 25 pounds
• Perform physical labor

As a Puppy Raiser volunteer, examples of projects that you might be involved in include:
• Short and long term fostering of puppies
• Implement Hero Pups puppy training program
Puppy Raisers must successfully complete a background check prior to working with the dogs.

As a Craft volunteer, examples of projects that you might be involved in include:
• Sewing patches on shirts
• Embroidering name tapes
• Assembling custom dog leashes
• Making macrame and paracord items
• Making dog collar charms
Helpful skills:
• Able to follow directions from a project manager
• Creativity. (We are always open to new ideas)
• Work from home

As a Fundraising/Events volunteer, examples of projects that you might be involved in include:
• Registering visitors and volunteers at fundraising events
• Distributing Hero Pups information at fundraising events
• Organizing volunteers
• Event planning
• Assisting with supply drives (to obtain items such as towels and blankets)
• Soliciting raffle items and conducting raffles
Helpful skills:
• Able to follow directions from a project manager
• Attend fundraising events offsite

• Enjoys interacting with other volunteers
• Working with databases such as Excel spreadsheets or Quickbooks
